The range systems from PT allow commercial, government and military installations
to save thousands of dollars annually for more important procurement needs. This is
due to the fact that there are significantly less maintenance and replacement costs
comparable to rubber block/sheet systems, dirt/sand berm configurations or steel
traps. Rubber blocks, dirt/sand berms and steel traps all require a relatively large
HAZMAT environmental cleanup expense to dispose of the lead contaminated waste.
With the Gel-Cor® or ELIxIR® Bullet Trap system, the lead rounds are removed
through a vacuum process and recycled. Any fine lead particulates are neutralized
by the proprietary Super Trap® material additives. Furthermore, lead leaching to the
surrounding environment is prevented by these new firing range backstop systems
from STI.
